Care workers or candidates with equivalent qualifications and
experience in the relevant field.

ABOUT US
The Christine Buckley Centre provides education and support to
Survivors of institutional abuse from industrial schools, Magdalene
laundries and mother and baby institutions.
The Centre is a place of welcome, dignity, respect, and safety where
all survivors of institutions and their families can feel supported
and empowered. Part of a healing journey as they rebuild their lives
and find the peace and justice they truly deserve. We aim to achieve
this through education, personal development, a holistic approach and
creativity in a community setting. Our Centre will always be where
people are not alone or made to feel different. We can stand together
with like-minded peers for justice and rights as human beings. All
different, All equal. We work with all Survivors of Ireland’s
Religious and State- Run Institutions.
We provide advocacy support and appropriate referrals in the areas of:
* Education and Training
* Crisis Intervention
* Access to Counselling Services
* Access to various services
POST: Social Care Worker
LOCATION:

RESPONSIBLE TO: CBC Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Work as part of the CBC Team
* Provide one-to-one assessment, key working and support planning
for service users.
* Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including individuals, groups,
communities, health and other providers who assist in service users’
support needs.
* Provide group facilitation for activities and workshops as and
when required.
* Always work with the service user’s needs in mind.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Liaising with the team around providing support to service users
internally & occasionally externally.
* Provide key working support to service users and keep records
using Salesforce CRM.
* Collaborating in enhancing the design, development, delivery &
evaluation of workshops and services, always ensuring high standards.
* Dealing with requests for information via e-mail, telephone, one
to one & keep records of same.
* Accompanying service users, as deemed necessary, to appointments.
* Supervising events and trips as required
* Attending team and general staff meetings and supervision.
* Keeping accurate statistics and records of interventions using the
Salesforce Client Management System
* Working with survivors of Institutional abuse, other project
staff, family members and other agencies.
* Supervising the Centre in Health and Safety capacity while Service
Users are in the building.
* A Level 7 Degree in Social Care is essential or equivalent in a
related field.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
* Experience is essential: at least TWO years of experience working
in one or more of the following areas: Trauma, abuse, addiction,
mental health, social care and/or homelessness.
* Administration duties, including record keeping using Salesforce
CMS.
* Experience in group facilitation
* Experience in case management / key working/ care planning process
and implementation
* Experience working with external stakeholders and other agencies
within the voluntary and statutory sectors.
KNOWLEDGE
An understanding and knowledge of:
* Person-centered holistic approach with quality-driven services and
support to promote inclusion, social justice, and community
integration.
* The harm reduction principles and the issues associated with
providing services in a voluntary agency setting.
* Key working, case management and crisis intervention.
* The history and impact of Institutional abuse in Ireland.
SKILLS AND ABILITY
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills at all levels
* Ability to be clear and explicit about professional boundaries.
* Proven organisational and planning skills with the ability to
prioritise needs and objectives.
* Ability to establish and develop effective Key Working and Case
Management relationships with clients.
* Ability to facilitate case conferences and groups.
* Ability to establish and utilise external networks effectively.
* Ability to advocate effectively on behalf of service users as
required.
* Ability to use initiative, apply sound decision-making skills, and
assess service users’ needs.
* Ability to act calmly in emergencies and respond professionally to
challenging and stressful situations.
